Marriage Preparation Sessions
Engaged Couples, Newlyweds & Special Requests
Provided by Lynda Daring
Description: These sessions provide an encouraging environment for couples to become better familiar with their forthcoming roles as married partners (living together, raising children, finances, spirituality, duties, simple curiosity, household responsibilities, and more).
Desired Outcome: Each session is planned according to the specific issues expressed by the couple. It is driven by you. It is my hope that you leave the sessions confident to effectively take personal responsibility to move forward in your relationship. An evaluation will be provided to measure the effectiveness of the outcome and next steps.
Credentials: I hold a B.S. from Wilmington University, New Castle, Delaware, in Behavioral Science. Almost 19 years as a Career Coach and Training Manager, provided me with valuable life lessons in humility, temperance, and dealing with adversity. I am an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church, Modesto California and American Marriage Ministries, Seattle, Washington, and a member of the International Association of Professional Wedding Officiants.
Coach Role: I will ask you to describe your desired outcome and expectations from the program. Building on the objectives you identify; I will partner with you and apply a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize your personal potential to become your own expert and take the action that is necessary to achieve your goals together.
Methods Used: administer open-ended questions (in-person and take home), journal to record significant feelings, practice role-playing, online exercises, and virtual follow-up.
Purpose: Love, relationships, marriage do not come with instructions or a How-To manual. We learn by doing, maturing, experiencing, and sharing life’s experiences with each other. This program is offered to those engaged couples who ask for insight and techniques to help them navigate through pre/post-wedding. Learned techniques and examples that if committed to using in real life, will ideally become your most basic and effective tools throughout married life together.
Disclaimer: I am not a licensed therapist, nor an accredited counselor. My degree is in Behavioral Science, a combination of Psychology and Sociology. I do not have a graduate or doctorate in these fields. This service is rendered by request, prepared, and delivered using my accredited education, acquired skills, talent, marital experience, and life experiences. I am compensated for my time for a fair and equitable fee agreed upon.
